As promised and long awaited,
Here is the finished mural from our time in Ghana.
Katie Hammond made this great video that shows the whole process! Enjoy!

Here are a few more photos from the project:
This is the outside of the building. Kids and locals loved to watch us work.
We wanted to put a world map on the wall so that the teachers could use it as a learning tool and so that the kids could see where they live. Maybe not 100% accurate but considering I free-handed this in sidewalk chalk I’m pretty proud of it.
Mandatory turtle detail. Marilyn did a phenomenal job on these guys and I love them.
Mady and the twins working on the garden. (If you haven’t read my blog about the twins, you can find it here)
Michaela was instrumental in making this map happen, because she stood at the back of the room and told me what needed to be bigger, smaller, a little to the left, etc. She also had the brilliant idea to draw some graph lines so that we could get things in the right place. (I was working off a photo of a map I had found in a classroom at one of the schools we had visited, and the map happened to have been folded at one time making it easy to use the folds as a guide).
And lastly, I would like to give a shout out to sidewalk chalk and to our ministry host for continually providing more when I used it all up pretty much every day. That is all.
Hope you’ve enjoyed the mural and its making! Sorry it took me so long get this posted! As I write this from Thailand though, it’s fun to think about the kids that are playing and learning in this little building as we speak.
Much Love and God Bless,
-Hattie
