Hello, Hello!

So we are all done in Togo and back in Ghana for a couple of days before we fly out to Thailand! It’s nice to have some downtime and catch up on blogs/processing/ all that good stuff.

In the meantime I have an exciting update for you!

This update just so happens to be about Ghana.

As you may well remember, last month I had the wonderful opportunity to work on a mural. (If you didn’t catch that one, you can check it out here)

During my time working on the mural I had the help of a power team. On this team were our host’s twin daughters, who are 11 years old.

These girls did an amazing job helping with the mural. They even did the base sketches of some of the flowers in the garden corner themselves! I also got to do a short bookmaking workshop with them and they made the cutest little journals.

Here are some photos of them and of their journals. I’m a very proud teacher.

This brings me to my update:

Our host from Ghana recently sent me a message thanking me for my time and talents. Because of my time with them and the mural we worked on the twins decided to paint their own mural! It’s located in the area where we ate all our meals last month and they sent me photos which I am very excited to share with you:

Man, look at the teeth on those killer whales! And the sea lions have little whiskers?? Gah! I love it!! Also loving these sharks.

I am super proud of these extremely talented young women and it’s such an honor to have been able to work with them, teach them, and inspire them.

I love that the little underwater sea world we painted didn’t stop when we left.

This is my hope for all the ministry we do this year.

What if in each country all we do is just light a match?

Even just a spark.

What do you leave behind?

One little spark of creativity, of inspiration, of Christ’s love.

Fan the flame

Start a fire.

Much Love,

Hattie
